Is it possible to use AD1866 or AD1851 in NOS DAC

Hello,
I have searched the forum, but with no answer to my question. I am a beginner in digital technology and just seeking help. I am 58 years old and tried to stay away from building DACs, but I heard a lot of good opinions about NOS DACs. I would like to try take on the project. Since, I am bound at home, not COVID related, I went through my part boxes and found the following: AD1866N, AD1851N and AD1892 JR chips. The DAC chips are in DIP packages where AD1892 is SOIC. Is it possible to build NOS DAC with these chips?
Thank you for the help !!!!!!

Hello rfbrw,

Thank you for the reply. I have looked at datasheets of both DAC types and, if I understand it correctly, AD1866 is a multi-bit and AD1851 is single-bit. I would be more interested in multi-bit chip. I was not able to find any schematics on this forum or on the net. Do you have any schematics or source you can point me to?

They are both multibit. One is dual channel and the other is single channel. You won't find much on them as they have been obsolete for a decade or two and the stars of the AD multibit stable were always the AD1862 and AD1865. There are quite a few schematics around that can be adapted but the next step is to decide whether you want SPDIF input or USB.
