Look, I'm cranky because you're in Strasbourg right now and I'm not. Et j'ai faim pour flaemmekuechen avec un verre de Riesling.
Seriously, though, what further are you looking for? If you want to delve into it a bit more deeply, get a copy of Dickason's "Loudspeaker Design Cookbook," complete with graphs, charts, equations, and explanations. Everyone should have a copy.

Even order crossovers have phase coherancy between drivers. That's not necessarily, electrical even order crossovers, but rather the acoustic and electrical response combined.
That's not to say that there isn't phase shift, but both drivers shift the same direction and amount.
I played with the Acoustic reality series crossover, and with a Vifa P13 and a Vifa XT-25 I couldn't get satisfactory performance, even after a couple days of fiddling. With a parallel crossover, I had something knocked together that was better than the AR on my third try. You have way more control over driver response with a parallel crossover. I've heard good stories about the AR crossover, but those drivers sure didn't work with it.

SY: now, after having read your post, I also want a Flammekueche and a glass Riesling
but I'll wait a bit, it's 9AM here 😀
what I'm looking for, is some infos to be able to maintain both speakers (of my first diy loudspeaker project) in phase, even during theyr XO's rolloff

Obviously, people here know in many ways to enjoy life. That's great! 🙂 I also come from a region, where great wine, especially Riesling, is made. Some say, it's the best Riesling of all. What a pity, that german wines have such a bad reputation in foreign countries.
everybody try Riesling from Rhine
btw: on my website, there is a pecipe for flammkuchen, but it's written in german, of course.

Come on guys,... everyone knows....
... that Australia now the produces the best wines in the world ;-)
I live 30km from the Hunter Valley wine area btw !!
Delivered a subwoofer up to a winery a few months ago, and he gave me a few of bottles of red for the trouble, YUM !!!!
All gone now :-(
And Sheldon,
that AR series x-o can be a pita to work with, needs software, etc etc to get it right. Also very driver specific (ie gotta have the right drivers.) I haven't been able to get one to work as well as a normal series x-o.
BUT.... it has lead to some interesting variants of series x-o particularly 2nd order. The 2nd order I now have in Trinity, (MTM peerless 850467 x 2 + XT25, modelled by a guy called Greg in Western Australia) is just sooooo yummy to listen to !!!
ps; just finished a bottle of mediocre red , can't afford the good stuff, being a student etc !!!! with evening meal of course ;-)

if it ain't written in Elsassian, it's not a true flammkuchen recipe 😉
OK, you're right. But I'm really limited to german, english and a very poor french. Mon fraçais est très mauvais :-( So let's say it is a recipe for a pizza like something with onions, bacon and cream 🙂

- Is a series-XO the only way to always have both speakers in phase?
