Hello, I have found someone who can give me a very cheap LCD panel... Im still looking into the specs, but it's part number is NL10276AC30-01, and is for an NEC LCD 15" monitor. I havn't recieved a reply from NEC, and so don't know what monitor model it is for, but I was wondering what I would need to do to get this thing working? I don't think it has any inputs, so I'd need to aquire this kind of board somewhere... not sure where. Maybe if one of you has the monitor this panel is for, I could give you some money for the interface? ;P. I can get the panel for under $100, and it seems to be a fairly good panel, so was wondering if it would be worth buying
Thanx a lot!

you need a special controller card for 60 plus on ebay. I got the controller for 85. with shipping.
Where do you find these controllers on ebay? I never find monitor lcd controllers on there when i do a search for "Lcd controller"...???
I just looked at ebay and it seems that all of the LCD controllers are for those text LCD displays... none are for monitors... Did you just get lucky by finding a controller for the exact board you had or what?
Seems there are plenty of LCD panels available for good price, but the problem is the controller. Now, there are chips used in common graphics cards like NVidia's MX440 and ATI's Mobility Radeon. Doesn't anyone use them to build AGP cards with LVDS connector on the card? That would be also a cheap solution. You can get pulled 12.1" -14" XGA TFT's for £70 and below, and MX440 cards like MSI-8888 cost about £50. Also Intel 845G (integrated graphics) chipset supports LVDS, and there are add on AGP cards for it with the LVDS output. Some sigle board computers (embedded stuff) now use this chipset too. The Epia-M is also one way to go, maybe the best one, as you could use it to make the HTPC. However it's not know which panels are compatible with the Epia LDVS interface. One thing lacking with the pulled LCD's though is that they seldom have very good contrast ration, it's usually 200 - 250 : 1. Obviously you could later replace just the LCD and use the controller, so in long term it could be better solution to dismantled TFT monitor.
Hello, thanx for the reply! coincidentally, I own and am currently using an nVidia MX440... I don't know much about LVDS, and googling didn't seem to help. Is there some kind of LVDS connector on a card that supports it or does it just plug into the VGA connector? Once I have some kind of connector plugged into my vid card, how do I connect it to a bare panel? I would be very happy if you could provide me with some more info on how an LVDS system is interfaced.. Thanx a lot!

the lcd you have if it is an ac model needs a special controller. the normal controllers have the standard lvds interface but these panels take a 16 pin input and 2 other special inputs to controll them. i have seen 4 controllers that will control this monitor on ebay before, 2 of them were within the last month. i might sell you mine if i cant find a panel to go with the controller. im looking at the compadability list right now and your panel is listed.
EDIT: look here for the specs. you need the middle board from the figure on page 9.

So you have the board that would allow me to go from VGA to whatever input the board takes? What is the part Number? Maybe there is another place I can get it... I can get the panel for about $80, so if I can find the controler for under $200, I will be saving money 😉 So will I also then need to get/build a power supply or does come with the controler? What would be involved in building one if this is necessary? It would be really cool if I could find a controler board/power supply for fairly cheap as I don't like to spend money (that is kind of an obvious statement...) Well and if you can't get yours to work out, That would be really cool if you'de be able to sell it to me 🙂 You might even be able to make quite a bit of money knowing that I'll (probobly) pay up to near $200...
Well I would need to know if I could buy yours within like 3 days... but w/e
Thanx

the controller i got is made by reptron. the panel is powered by the controller. The controller is powered by molex connecter from a computer's psu. digitalview also sells a controller to drive this panel. they will ask for the model of your panel and give you the controller to work with the panel.
just saw one on ebay.
