Anyone know if HID headlights can cause intererence through speakers that are amped? Have a mate who gets noise when there turned on when the volume on the HU is at minimum
If so, apart from removing them is there any fixes

Absolutely, there's a metric ton of information on the web about HID and EMI (Electro Magnetic Interference) especially with the less carefully shielded units from overseas.
There are ways to mitigate EMI through shielding, grounding and filters but none of it is easy or straightforward without identifying the cause or the frequency first.

So basically its better to take them out and use normal bulbs instead ��

Well you can buy expensive morimoto or Bosch ballasts and get rid of the problem as well. OR get some of the newer LEDs that are as bright as HID but that depends on your local laws.
