Hello DIY friends.
New prices
We have designed an Mono DC Protection for speakers to install in amps.
Basicly it is an Mosfet based SSR switch but we have packed some features into the 70x70x27mm (WxLxH) board.
2 modules are used for Stereo.
The prices in € excluding VAT and Shipping:
We have recalculated the based on hopefully larger quantity
SSR DC protection w/o current sensor: 38.75€/pcs
SSR DC protection with current sensor: 48,75€/pcs

- 100Vpeak and 100Apeak for SSR Switch
- Undervoltage lockout +/-20VDC
- DC offset protection 0.5VDC -3dB @ 1.5Hz
- Current limiter up to 100A. 16 selectable steps through Dipswitch
- Current limiter is non intrusive, it uses an hall sensor
- Current sensor has an bandwidth of 90KHz, to catch any overcurrent immediately
- LED status output to signal error
- Reset input to reactivate SSR switch
- +/-75VDC supply voltage
- Board size is 70x70x27mm (WxLxH)
2 modules are used for Stereo.

It depends on the margin that you set the current limit at compared to the current capacity of the amplifier.
The time-constant of the current detecting HALL element is 12uSec. So you should be able to prevent an damage of the amp.
But i would set the current limit 20% lower than the capacity of the amplifier, to have some margin to play on....
The DC protection module remains off when encountering an over-current. You can release it again with an switch connected to the reset input.

Early bird:
Ganck - 2 pcs (Paid) (Testing)
The modules are 70x70mm.
Spacers between mounting plate and PCB should be 5mm. The two mosfets needs to be mounted on the plate with thermal conductive isolation pads.
Total height of the modules above mounting plate is 33mm

How to connect DC protection to TSSA V2, V4 and V8
On the picture it is shown how to connect the DC protection module to the TSSA V2, V4 and V8 amplifier.
It is very simple, there is no need for external power as they are feed from the amplifier modules.
Undervoltage lockout is at +/-14VDC - Blink 0.2/1sec
DC lockout is at +/-600mVDC - Blink 1/1sec
Current Limit lockout is at +/-600mVDC - Blink .3/.3sec
Undervoltage and DC lockout recovery is 1 sec.
Current Limit lockout can only recover by shorting pin 3 and 4 on J8 connector after that the SSR will recover after 1 sec.

A scope shot from the current limiter in action.
The yellow trace is the output.
Green trace is the input.
As seen on the picture it cuts fast, There are some ringing for 20uSec but is due to the mosfet output capacitance reacting with the inductance of the wires and the very low speaker resistance (0.5R) forming an series resonator.
The current limit settings is 9.3A, 14A, 18A, 28A, 56A, 136A.
All tests is now done and shipping is on its way.

Hi Sonny,
For J6 power connector, should I also connect J6-3 to V4 control board or just connect J6-1(V+),J6-2(GND) and J6-5(V-) to V4 control board?

Just use the cables I have send with the module.
And it is correct that there are 1 pin that is not wired through
