Integrated Amp as a Pre-Amp

Hello everyone
First post here, did search, probably has been covered before but I couldn't find a topic.

I recently built a pair of simple 2 way PA speakers because Hi-fi speakers just weren't doing it for me. The speakers each contain an Emience 5khz crossover, Skytronic horn (75w RMS, 150W max) and a Skytronic 12 inch full range driver (100W RMS, 200W Max) - would have used Emience but tight budget.
I have a 30 year old Sansui AU 2200 integrated amplifier. Now my birthday is coming up (May 13th) and I'm gonna have an outdoor disco. I realized the weak 15W p/c output of this amp is enough for indoors but it won't be enough outdoors.
I did order a Skytronic 600W p/c power amp but I noticed it has no bass and treble controls. I know I need a mixer to do this but I'm out of money.
Would it be possible to use the Sansui AU 2200 as the preamp? It does not have a pre-amp output but could the headphone 6.35mm output be used?

Make a simple 2-resistor voltage divider. You could use, say, a 15k and 330 in series. Like this:

Yeah, I would rather use the headphone output because I need to use the speaker outputs for speakers at the same time. And I could control the volume from the Sansui and not need to touch the main poweramp.
If it's safe, I'll give it a go tomorrow, otherwise I guess I'll have to use the resistors method.
