I want to replace in my project the regulator
7905
Regulator
LM2900T
Lending
At the entrance of the regulator have Ceramic capacitor
0.1UF
According to the data sheet of LM2900
I'm supposed to replace to electrolytic capacitors 10UF

The question
Is the orientation of the input capacitor
+
-

Be according to the exit capacitor
?????????

The input capacitor is non polarized as it is ceramic and makes no difference.

According to the DATA SHEET
Of the LM2900
OUTPUT and INPUT electrolyte capacitors must be 10UF or higher
With ESR up to 10 OHM

the output capacitor of the reg i have no problem, I've changed the capacitor
To RUBYCON ZLH 100UF (ESR 0.13 - 0.43)
I need to find a solution to the INPUT ceramic capacitor .

I have an idea
Replace to film capacitors
of VISHAY of 1813 10uf
But I still do not know if all the limitations of the ESR
The regulator LM2900T also allowed to replace film capacitors that their impedance is very low
😕
(I do not want to replace the TANTALUM CAPACITOR Because they are highly combustible )

Hi
you can use almost every >10uF cap there, no need for expensive and large film types
every working (not dry) electr. cap will have <10Ohm ESR
for example same rubycon ZLH type with 22-100uF

And yes, use same polarization as the output cap. ("+" to ground, "-" to IN-pin of the reg) for a negative regulator
