Am wondering if it would be possible to inject line level audio from a pre-amp into an AVR.
It's a Harman Kardon avr7300
Am thinking I could tap into the blue circle area and "cut" the red line(s)
I see the avr7300's pre-outs tap into the same feed, so thinking that their output levels would indicate what the amp is expecting.
The manual doesn't state the pre-out specs 🙁

Yes.
Why do we need preamp specs? Read the power amp.

You can't read my screen-grab but you can blow-up the PDF.
Input is 33k, gain is 31, peak output swing is nearly 55V. So we need 1.7V peak 1.2V RMS in 33k. Almost any "preamp" can do this.

Oh wow!
I'll look at the service manual this evening.
Thank you so much for confirming it is possible.
My preamp (Marantz av7005) says the output is 1.2v which seems inline with what the amp gets from the 7300's preamp.
But I don't understand the 33k part. With the very limited understanding I have, I would think that is the resistance, in turn meaning the required power/energy for the input. Is that right?
If so is that a normal amount, 33k? Sorry for asking again, you did say "[almost] any preamp can provide that." just really want to understand.
