Would there be a way to easily shorten the necessary distance for my commercial projector? Basically, my room is small and the projection created is about 4ft.
I thought an additional magnification lens in front of the main ones might do it, or a mirror at 45 degrees in the 'line of fire' (which works, but is a bit cumbersome and I need a cleaner and bigger mirror)
Any Ideas / links for lenses (pref. available to the UK)?

Ive read on various pages of the forum that standard eye-glass's lens can be used to increase and decrease the focal length.
*cough* a quick search resulted in this links.

I have not tried nor seen it tried so I guess once again its upto experimentation.

The best way to fix this is to re-lens the projector (the manufacturer may sell various lenses for throw size & distance); if it is possible. Some come with fixed lenses and this would be a tricky mod. An external lens would add possible distortion and must reduce the resulting image brightness. I am sure an external lens could be presented in front of the main projector lens, as they do with cameras.

More research is required to make this work.
The optics are very critical for a projector & one of the most costly elements, too. There is a reason for that. They have a great influence over the final image, like speakers in an audio system.

if one was going that extent, i think perhaps a 500-600mm projection lens would be an even easier solution..
ok, many thanks guys. I think my main problem aside from quality is luminosity, especially with my commercial projector.
btw, i did search the forums, I promise.. just not on the right keywords, as it seems!
