I have inherited a SP 5000 and when i turn it on there's nothing. From what i can tell is its a power supply issue. I removed the P/S from the unit and when plugged in i get 120v at the connector with black wires (P1). Red/black wire connector (J1) about .6v. I do not have a schematic or reference voltages, but any help would be appreciated. I hate to just pitch this, the bulb has about 1000 hrs on it.
I tried replacing all caps on the power supply-still DOA. Heading into the GARBAGE CAN tomorrow morning after the snow stops.
Have you checked the microswitch on the lamp housing? It will not power up without the case on or door closed.
I took the lamp door off, toggled the switch several times and the unit turned on. I assume dirty switch and will need to remove and clean. when i shut the unit off the lamp goes off but how long will the fans run? They shut off when i released the lamp cover switch.(45 secs after lamp shut off)
