Improved OP

Used to use a bryston-like OP circuit in a number of designs - like it a lot (complementary pairs in each half of push-pull).
Recently improved it a bit adding some local NFBs.
Compensation caps values may vary a bit dependind on particular transistors used.

Improvement results in higher OP linearity - OP's THD decreases more than 50%.
Not magic, but not bad, bearing in mind overall simplicity of the circuit.

Hi Vzaichenko

I'm also a fan of Bryston and their techniques.

Your "improved" output stage is similar to the standard 3B OP but with a flaw added and circuitry missing. Were you to ground the 150Rs then you would have the Bryston OP with one stage missing. Connecting your FB to the top of the emitter Rs linearises current but not voltage. This may give a THD improvement when simming into a resistive load, but reactive performance will be off.

Bryston has all their schematics on their site. Have a look.

I use the Quad Comp output stage both as a follower and as intended, with gain. It is great either way.

Have fun
