I hear all you guys raving about getting these huge 10 foot wide images on your xga projectors but what is an acceptable viewing distance for such a large image?
For instance my room allows for a 12 foot viewing distance. If I was to watch a 10 foot wide (not diagonal) xga image from 12 feet away would the screen door be anoying. What about 1280x720 resolution from same distance?

I have a 10' screen at a 17' viewing distance(18' projector throw). it makes sense. (gets girls in the house 😀 ) something to brag about.
I think for a 12' viewing distance... 7' is as big as i'd go. I'm at a 4:3 screen ratio, so I'm just about floor to ceiling.

My setup is around 9ft to 10ft from seat to screen. I have a 17" 1280x1024 (720p) LCD and a screen size of around 6.5ft. Very enjoyable and not too big. I can see everything at once on the screen. Plus, if you keep it on the smaller side, the picture will be brighter. 🙂
