il HELP, Impedance missmatch Boston SUBs

Here is my issue:
I have 2 Identical Boston G5 SVC subs.
one is fine, ohms out Fine 4 ohm DCR Plays fine
The Other I picked up off CL, was in very good condition, same Model
SVC 4 ohm design. BUT this other sub has a DCR of about 7 ohms, PLAYS fine at all power levels up to rated 450w.
Coil Look fine, NOT discolored or burnt.
my thought were to call Boston about this and they said that it COULD be possible that it was an assembly mixup and a single voicecoil 8 ohm got mixed up in the batch prior to assembly, REALLY?
question is can I unwind the coil enough (and resolder) to bring it down to 3.3ohm or 4 ohm DCR to match the other sub? it plays just fine BUT the impedance mismatch one sub plays Harder then the other (about 50%) loudness as well. any thoughts?

You could use a industrial type high wattage resistor ideally non inductive
of 10 ohms in parallel across the 7 ohm driver 7x 10 /17 = 4.11

or the other way a 3 ohm resistor added in series to make 7 for the 4 ohm side.speaker.

Ir is not a perfect solution as power is used up in the resistor rather than the
speaker, Better to put in a balance control at line level

Cheers / Chris
