IEC Test Baffle

I've posted a "How-To" guide on a test baffle that I built this week. It's largely based on the IEC spec with some minor tweaks. Mainly, I cut a 12" hole but built to the dimensions of the 10" baffle because that's what would fit in the shop. It has a couple of neat (I think) features that make it collapsible and more portable. Hope you can use it!!

Cool idea and execution 🙂

That said, I *guess* that if it fits "tightly" in your shop, "it´s not an infinite baffle any more"

Not sure now, but I guess IEC baffles are used either inside an anechoic room, or plain outside, or at least in a very large room .

I might be mistaken of course.

Again, congratulations on your build.

Now we need some measurements 😀

Besides the classic ones (sweeping various speakers mounted there) it would be interesting to compare (at least one), first mounted in its cabinet, and then in the IEC baffle.

Thanks! You're right...now that it is built I can't wait to use it.

I have a project I'm wrapping up and then there's one right behind it that I will be using the baffle for. I'm going to use it both inside and out and we'll see what the delta in response looks like. Building the cabinets now for this new project so will be able to measure that way as well...great idea. I'll be sure to post the measurements in as soon as they're done!
