Identify this Cerwin-Vega bass cab

Found an interesting bass cab on the local classifieds. Works, but missing speaker connectors and handles. Also one woofer has a bit of a glue job done to it.
I'd like to know the model # of this thing, and whether it's worth the €25. I'd run it as a bass guitar cab, and when I get tired of this thing, I could build some full range speakers with those drivers + my own horn tweeters...

Those probably aren't original CV drivers in that box.. but that could be a good thing, if they are even just some generic Eminence driver they should work well as an instrument amp or as PA speakers with high frequency horns added. If the drivers all work I'd say it's worth the asking price.

Thought so 😀 But as you said, that might be good. I hate the colored surrounds of CVs, they just look so cheap and Chinese and whatever...

Yea the drivers all work but as he said, and as you can see on the picture, someone has repaired the bottom right woofer's surround cloth. No big deal. Not exactly an eyesore. I might just use a sharpie or something to paint the white glue, or just re-repair them.

I'd ask the guy what drivers are int here but he's not here in Estonia till Feb. 26th, so that has to wait.
The drivers, to me, look like they might have cast aluminium baskets, as suggested by the gray-ish basket rims.
I wonder what the diameter of those is? By eye measure, I'd say 10 or 12, but I'd rather gravitate towards the 12.

Any ideas of what the model of the speaker might be? Just curious due to the fact that this could give me a clue as to what drivers used to be in there 🙂

As discussed in another thread regular glue is not the right type of thing to use on a speaker suspension, a rubberized glue or even silicone is better as it doesn't dry rigid which would alter or restrict suspension action. If you buy this and the PO used Elmers glue or something similar then a redo would be in order, if it turns out he used silicone then it's more of a cosmetic defect and shouldn't affect performance.

Until seeing this pic I had no idea CV ever made instrument speakers and I have seen lots of Vega boxes over the years, and a web search turned up no results at all so either this thing is super rare and predates the WEB by a good amount or maybe it is some other brand cab with the CV plate added later.. maybe to cover the space where the amplifier module would have lived?

Looks well worth 25.

In 1980 I built a 2 by 12 inch cabinet using Fane drivers.
On installing one of the speakers my screwdriver slipped and went straight through the cone ! I filled up the hole with glue and it lasted for many years until I sold them on.
