I2SE Interface DAC

Hi, Dear All,

I decided to build one high-end DAC with I2SE interface. Now I couldn't find the digital filter with I2SE input. Would u like to advice me? or tell me how to invert to I2S format.

BTW, the ICs on my hand now are PCM1704 and AD1896, PMD200.

Hi There,

If you can find a timing diagram for I2SE you can compare it to I2S and from there see what needs to be done. I would imagine the two are probably very similar judging by the names. The Assemblage DAC 3.1 has an I2SE interface maybe you can find a schematic of that.

You will need to bypass the AD1896 to get the PMD200 to work with HDCD as the AD1896 destroys the HDCD information.

Where did you get hold of the PMD200????

I have a bit different problem. I have Hi-end DAC with I2S-e interface (SFD2 MKIII) and doughter interface board for SFT-1 transport. I tried to connect it to regular I2S output of other philips cd module (Philips CD and leater will try CD PRO2).

My doughter board have following input
BCK (SCK in philips standard?)
LRC (WCK in philips standard?)
DIN (DATA in philips standard?)
16.93 (MHz)
SPDIF (yes! it is there)
and +5V and +9V and few grounds.

When I connected it like I mention in bracket, and add LC clock from SAA7345 (the same signal to board and servo) + SPDIF, then I received very low and disterted signal from DAC. vERY BIG AMOUNT OF DIGITAL NOISE TOO.

Would someone can help me to connect it properly to work as it should? Is it possible?

Thanks in advance
