I2s --> SPDIF out ?
I am searching for an Audio Encoder which can convert the I2s format signal into SPDIF format signal . That is to say , "I2s in " and "SPDIF out " .
Could anybody give me a hand ?I am anxious to get it . It'd better be an IC .
Thanks in advance .

Re: I2S --> SPDIF out?
You can use the Crystal CS8402 chip. Feed it with the three I2S signals (WS, CLK, DATA) and with a master clock of exactly 128*fs. For a 44100 Hz sampling rate, the clock frequency is 5.6448 Mhz. The Crystal site has the datasheet and you can buy the chip at RS-Components.

Another choice is the TI/BurrBrown DIT4096 or DIT4192. The latter can handle up to 192 kHz. Both support I2S, Left-Justified, and Right-Justified data formats, and neither requires a microcontroller to configure (configure via pulling pins high/low).
Thank you two .
I have looked through the above two ICs , but they may be too much on the function . What I want is just a simple audio encoder which can only encode the I2S format data to SPDIF format .
Anyway , thank you .

That is exactly what the Burr Brown chips do. In fact, they don't do anything else!What I want is just a simple audio encoder which can only encode the I2S format data to SPDIF format
