Have you ever used a CB radio? there's a thing when you can only hear half of a conversation cos the other guy is too far away (1980s ?).

Well, i'm getting it here now too but you seem to be having fun so good on you. Party on Dude!

I started the 80's using vinyl and reel to reel tape, ended it using vinyl and CD. Shame they tried to ruin things with that cold war, or was it because of that we partied so hard.

So many ways to look at something. Same as it ever was......

Talking Heads eh, the world would have been much duller without them.

Before I got married I worked for someone else's disco.
We travelled all over the north of England.
Always plenty of offers from women.
I was DJing one night and a woman came up and grabbed my hand and wouldn't leave go ! Took her home when I finished.

They had interesting gear, the boss was into many small speakers instead of a couple of big ones. Sounded OK.
I remember him investing in a couple of Orange (US make) speakers with the speaker facing backwards with a horn top and bottom. They sounded OK but a little bit wooden.
He was an electrician so built his own gear. He had lots of different sorts of disco lights.
The DJing was exciting but not as exciting as the drive to and from the gig, he drove like a lunatic ! There was usually 3 or 4 DJ's so I volunteered to sit in the back of the van, talk about rock and roll oll

I spend quite a bit of time reliving the 1980's.
Most of my amplifier projects have been rehashes of Maplin 1980's gear.
I have a few 1980's Fane speakers still going strong.

You should give me them Fane's haha, I'm just a Bedroom/house warrior haha though, know as well as I do its hell of a lot different everywhere else. and I do have a lot of respect for people that can do that, play everything so perfect/clean. etc. amount of time trying to perfect **** alone suppose drives one mad... I was probably already mad/unstable anyways though haha.

Nice, yeah some are going for crazy prices.

I remember making my cabinets for the fane speakers to go into.
I made two cabinets with two speakers in each.

I had to bolt the speakers in so put a spanner on the nut inside the cabinet and leant around to the front to hold the screw at the front with a screwdriver.
I slipped and the screwdriver went right through the cone !
After a lot of swearing I got some epoxy glue and filled the hole.
The speaker worked OK for many years afterwards until I sold my disco on.
