Can anyone tell me about this thing? it has 'horizontal' 'vertical' and 'tone' jacks, plus two 'exciter' jacks and a pair of 'antenna' jacks. i have seen them for use in tweaking Ham radios, but would it be useful as a simple oscilloscope of some kind, or tone generator or something? I also got a fully-functional Eico 232 VTVM, which will definately come in handy.

I would put that item on eBay and see what you can get for it, then I would go and get an inexpensive tek scope on eBay. It's purpose designed for monitoring signal quality in a ham station and afaik doesn't have vertical amplifiers or a timebase that would be usable for audio work.
