I need mirror Information for rear projection TV.

I have a Hitachi 50" rear projection tv.

The mirror shattered in the back of the TV. Ive called Hitachi and asked them what the mirror size if so I can go and buy a mirror to replace the one that broke.

Well Hitachi doesnt know the measurements of the mirror all they can tell me is what the replacement part number is. Ive also called a couple Television repair shops and they tell me if I bring it in they can fix it but wont tell me the mirror measurements.

I can fix it myself if I knew the exact size of the mirror. I measure the brackets rhat holds the mirror and what I came up with was
31 1/2" wide by 27 1/2" heigth.

So can anyone tell me what the exact size of the mirror would be, I think Im close but may be off a little. I have tried on other forms but I was reffered to this form board that someone here should know.

By the way the model of TV I have is Hitachi 50UX52B if that helps you in telling me what the size should be.

If no one can provide you with the exact dimensions then I suggest you determine that yourself. One way may be to make take a piece of 1/4 inch cardboard and cover it with white posterboard. Make it as large as you can and secure it to the mirror brackets. Turn on the TV and measure the image shown on the posterboard. This will give you the reflected image size. Determine the mirror size from there as far as brackets goes.

I would assume it would be a front surface mirror. There was a guy who posted about being able to get custom cut mirrors cheap. I think he was taking them out of tvs, so he might be able to help you. I'll post you a link if I can find the thread.
