Ok from what I read there should probably be 2 wires that you will have to feed 12 volts of DC power. MAKE SURE YOU GET POLARITY CORRECT!!! As far as I see it has no speakers not that'd you want to use the built in ones anyways. The rca input is where your video signal goes.

im sorry i do not have a camera, once i get some extra cash i will buy one.theres some info if u dl the PDF fiel on the link i posted.http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&PartNumber=205-013&DID=7

Mario, yes there are two wires, polarity? im soory i am SO lost. if the RCA is for video how will i hear anything?

Meatballz, i dont think plugging it to seperate speakers is possible..

Thank you guys for your replies, it will not go to waste.

You take your video source (ie; dvd player) and plug the video into the LCD screen, you then take the audio wires(from the dvd player) and run them through a reciever or stereo. Since this panel was designed for a car, naturally only video would run through it as the audio would be played through the car's stereo system. There should be a black wire (ground) and a red wire (12v DC).

Also the only place that your gonna get a 12v DC power line from in the house is from a computer power supply, the yellow wires on the molex connectors(the power connectors that go to the hard drives) are 12 V+ DC the blacks are grounds, and the red is 5V+. I probably shouldn't have told you this stuff because you might end up frying yourself.

P.S. Make sure the power supply isn't turned on when you cut the wires Negative Design.

Electrical Stuff

Negative Design:

I would advise you to either talk to a high school electronics teacher or go to your local library before you start getting into this portion of your project. Rushing things will only endanger your expensive equipment and your irriplacable life. This is not stuff to play around with idlly. I had a little experience when I started and have more now but was careful to consult with an experienced person before proceeding. Asking for sugguestions on the forum is difficult because the moderators ussually step in for legal reasons (bad advice leads to death leads to law suit). Please be very careful and find a local source of advice before you hurt yourself.

Not Funny Guys

We are all here to learn something and hopefully build a working projector in the end. Negative Design, you seem to be very ambitious. My advise would be research, research, research. Most of us who are actually in the process of building have lurked on this site for a long time absorbing the layers apon layers of information stored here. I personnally read through this site for about two months before actually ordering any parts. Also check out the various sites on the net that grew from this forum. My next step was purchasing parts (mostly from e-bay) which probably took another two months. After all this I am now in the build process and am still having problems. This is a heads up for all the newbies, a fully DIY design is not as easy as it looks!! If you want something quick then go the OHP route, if you are more interested in saying "Yeah, and I built it" then the slow and frustrating fully DIY path is for you.

ND:
I with mine I just went to RadioShack and got one of the wallwart adaptors of the right voltage and amperage and cut of the ends, I made sure to ask the saleswoman about the polarity of the adaptor and she even checked with another person to make sure about it! and yes the RCA is your video in, if it was for sound than how would you get your video sig?

i think i will be paying radioshack a visit 🙂 now i understand about the audio, it will come from the source not the lcd.

Meatballz, no i cant connect it to dvd/console there are no ports on LCD

Babybyter, thanks for the advice, all i do is research, im practically looking for something 24/7. the "100inchtv" got me started and then i found out about the REAL deal...and now im here. oh, and in NYC there are no "electronics" teachers. NYc has the WORST public shools.

Rekr, HAHAAHa thanx for the info... i feel MUCH happier knowing that your info might lead me to a fiery death 🙂 .thanks for your condsideration, but i do not plan to use a power source meant for PCs on a teenie weenie LCD.
