That is pretty damn stupid...
🙄 I sure hope everybody realizes how stupid this is...
ATTENTION NEWBIES: DON'T DO THIS
I just don't understand why people do dumb-*** things like this.
By the way, does anybody know if metric threads sound better than imperial threads?

I saw one map die this way. The guy wraped the fuse in the output terminal of the amp with aluminium foil.
Nice smoke!
Nice smoke!

Depends on whether your AC mains frequency is in Hertz or cycles per second respectively. Of course, right hand threads only work properly for electron current flow; you need a left hand thread for conventional current. Something to do with the direction of electron spin I hear. 😉seangoesbonk said:By the way, does anybody know if metric threads sound better than imperial threads?
It's not metric or imperial, it's Right-hand Threads for the Northern Hemisphere and Left Hand for the Southern !
Whataheck,
Why not use silver wire and dip the entire amplifier into liquild helium? Liquid helium tank must be surrounded by liquid nitrogen and water heat exchangers to prevent evaporation thus explorsion.
(You know Helium gas pressure will blow the tank up. Which could make a mess in your kitchen.)

Heck, buy up some high-temperature superconductor and skip the helium, just use nitrogen by the truckload. Be careful of the vapor, it'll displace the oxygen in the air.....

fuze
heh seen that before i was doing some work in a buddys apartment . i blew a fuze so i went to the fuze box just to find all
the fuzes where pennys $500 dollers later had to rewire
danger do not use pennys as fuzes.....fire hazard

hmm. seems like thats an even worse idea than others as new pennies (if you mean US pennies) are made with a lot of zinc as opposed to copper.
Yeah, when it fuses, it makes a nice blue/green flame as the zinc burns 😉
Tim (has burned zinc before, looks cool but stay upwind of the smoke!)

Just about as stupid
as the old story about guys who used .22 cal long rifle bullet as replacement for AGC fuse in their truck. It of course exploded.
(Have no idea if this is urban ledgend or not. Knowing more than a few rednecks, it sounds plausable).

That little doozy's been discussed on rec.crafts.metalworking a bit... I forget but I think it's half and half. The part about the guy's balls getting shot off I think is UL.
