Hello this is my first post here...

Big time one ViewFrame Spectra at only 9 USD

NO ACCESORIES INCLUDED JUST REMOTE CONTROL.

So I don't know nothing about the unit.

It is an old one without video/s-video in.

-------------------------------------------------------

Questions:

I plugged a 12V 1A AC converter but altough red led bright up nothing on screen showed up ( not even with backlighting)

IS 12V 1A ENOUGH TO POWER IT ?

Being a little bit deceptioned I opened the unit and everything seems to be ok...

IF POWER IS ENOUGH THEN DOES IT NEED TO BE PLUGGED IN THE MONITOR OUTPUT FROM THE PC TO SHOW SOMETHING ?

Trying options I pressed the LCD ON button on the remote but nothing happened, does it need to sense a signal and after that it turns on ?

Coolers are ok.

HOW CAN I KNOW IF REMOTE IS OK ?

DO YOU THINK I COUL PLUG A VIDEO TO VGA CONVERTER AND WATCH TV ?

i got an nview z115 its 12V 2A...but mine could just be differnent...you just might need more amps..not sure...you might need a video sorce to see anything though..mine does nothing til i get something hooked up to it..either dvd or computer....

as for the remote you can test to see if its transmitting...i use to do that at radioshack where i worked..point the remote at the store security camera and in the monitor it will show a flash coming from the IR emitter showing its sending something out...(old trick i use to use to see if peoples remotes were dead or if it was batteries....its faster then testing the batteries one at a time..)

hope that helps...

Hello mindless thanks for dropping some lines shere, ok I'll check first with a signal I couldn't do that yesterday because I have no cable, I'll go today to Office Depot or Office Max...

The I'll find out if amps are enough...

If it is working then big time, my idea (maybe impossible) is to modify this unit to display NTSC video, it doesn't have vide input so I have to figure our and maybe copy the board from the model with video capability and try to make the circuit or maybe just plug in a NTSC to VGA converter but accomodate it inside the Spectra.

Later do the backlightiong I have a scanner that maybe is useful as it has a backlight for negatives and films.

Any suggestions somebody there ?

I have the same kit! When plugged in, I get the company logo on the screen but don't seem able to interface with the computer. I have all the required leads but no instructions.
When you plug in the 12v, hold the screen up to a window and check if there is a faint logo there.

Regards..

Chris
