Thanks to everyone in the group who convinced me to 'sack up' and do the MDF cutting myself.
Special thanks to Bill Fitzpatrick, I used your thoughts to build a table saw outfeed table and adjust my feeding technique. What used to be difficult and frustrating is now easy and successful.
And what I love the most about DIY audio, is that you can build at your own pace. With work and family it took me almost 5 months, but I just finished my Shiva 142 L sub and it sounds great. (This one is for a buddy, but mine is 3/4 done.)

Of course! His wife helped with the finishing!
It's pretty nice looking. Happy thumping!

Yup! A hint to all other married DIY'ers, let SWMBO* decide the speaker finish, so it matches the drapes or some such thing, and it's amazing what she'll let you do! (Like build a 5 cuft subwoofer. Heh.)

That thing is HUGE!!! lol 🙂
just looking at the pics... did you have trouble with the hole saws teeth getting jammed with MDF fibres? so they burnt.. lol I have had this problem in the past, and for my next set of speakers I am going to do 3 or 4 braces per box.... see a problem? lol... 🙂

Shouldn't there be a piece of foam or rubber under that vase so it doesn't rattle off and upset SWMBO?
