Hypex ucD180 balanced to unbalanced

caveat: total newbe

Hi all, I have ordered a kit to build a hypex amplifier (2 ucd180HG modules, 1 PSU). I would like to build it as recommended, i.e. as a balanced version. Source is a Pioneer N-50 and in between is a passive pre-amp to control the volume.

My question is: can I use a simple XLR to RCA adapter to interface the amp and the attenuator ? like this one?

Thank's all. Will be posting build pics once I've started and probably have some more questions.

That could be a good solution, as long as the adapter is located at the source, and you run an XLR cable to the UcD. I'd think you'd want a male RCA on the adapter in that case, like this one...

Ok, got it. Only problem with that in my configuration is that it would make the passive pre-amp tilt over :roll eyes:

So, I was wondering if a simple RCA (source) to XLR (amp) cable would do ? Or should I just wired the amp unbalanced ?

thank's

PS. Just got the package from Hypex.. I wasn't expecting it so fast 🙂
