Hello - Welcome to my Ncore chassis thread. I am offering a mono amplifier chassis for the NC400 & SMPS600 with the following specifications:

Black Aluminum Anodized Finish
Length – 10”
Width – 9”
Height – 3.47”
1 XLR input
or
1 RCA input
1 Speaker binding post
1 Push button front switch
1 Light pipe

The chassis will be entering the machining shop this week and work is progressing nicely.

Looks very interesting.

Why are there 2 Speakons plus binding posts, since Speakons have 4 poles in each one. Also, what IEC is planned?

Will you offer the switch, posts, IEC, etc in addition to the case or are they just off the shelf Digikey/Mouser?

The chassis shipped on Monday and should arrive at my house soon. I will have photos and pricing soon. They will be available for purchase from my website. Home - cOz's Cables

The case created for the 2 pole Speakon connector and that is why there are two holes. All parts are standard and readily available. I will release that information along with the photos when they arrive.

The chassis arrived today and I have assembled one for photos.
Ncore Amp Chassis - cOz's Cables

I don't have Ncore amps to install into the enclosure. I'm sure some of my customers will post pics of builds or send pics to me to post.

The final pricing is $145 plus shipping. Those people who chose to join the waiting list will be first in line. I will have the units packed and ready to ship by Monday. At that time, I will list in my webstore any amp chassis that are unsold.

I will post a complete list of parts and part numbers to complete the amp ASAP.

If there is enough interest in another run, I will arrange a list. For a second run, I would like to give people the option of buying the chassis with all the parts included. I think the international memebers will really appreciate that option.

The first round of chassis is sold out. Please submit suggestions for a second round. I'm thinking of removing everything but 1 Neutrik input, 1 set of binding posts, and 1 IEC. I don't think my customers wanted the additional options. I'm also considering a dual mono chassis and black anodization.

Chassis suggestions

I will be ordering chassis for a stereo pair of Ncore modules. I would prefer mono amp chassis for placement flexibility, although I know that the cost per channel is increased. I would need only an XLR input jack, one pair of binding posts and a fused IEC input on the back panel. I am indifferent to clear or black anodizing. I doubt if the sound will be different. 🙂

Hi,

My first post here. I registered do to my interest in building the Ncore amp.

My 2 cents: Yes on Neutrik input, 1 set of binding posts, and 1 IEC. I have no need for RCA, Speakon, etc. and would imagine I am in the majority here. A dual mono chassis sounds cool to me and my preference is black anodization. Great ideas Robert! Also I like your idea to include all parts as an option, simplifies things.
