This is also interesting from the standpoint of human evolution:

Hi,
Thanks for the link.
But - if you look for the supernatural for explanation, no rational explanation will ever suffice.
So much for the hope that rational argument will convince any creationist/ intelligent design believer ever.
I also do not discuss evolutionary theorie with any believer again - it is a waste of time with people who's reaction historically is to physically eliminate the non believer - why should I give the followers of such creeds any intellectual credit by wasting my time in discussion with them.
I might as well discuss democracy or the rule of law with a stalinist. Same league.
Believe is believe, and rationality and scepticism is just that - and never the twain shall meet. (Original by rudyard kipling, altered)

Um, I posted this because it's interesting from an evolutionary standpoint, not because I intend to discuss religion. I've already done that sufficiently in a number of other threads, as well as mentioned that the value of such discussions is not because there's any chance to convince the other side, but to inform the doubters and undecided.
BTW, regarding your democracy comment -- democracy is a failure, and not just practically, but also theoretically (i.e. Arrow etc.). But I also discussed that elsewhere on the forum, and don't want to repeat myself.
