Hi,
I just got some used Eagle brand 15A/125V receptacles for cheap, found out there are 2 types, one with screws on sides, one with 8 holes on the back. Does anyone know how to take these receptacles apart? I want to remove all back wirings and throughly clean them before installation.
Peace
Mickey

This seems like a strange an potentially dangerous idea. What if you get it wrong and start a fire?
Wouldn't it be easier/better just to buy new clean models?

In the US the one's with 8 wire holes on the back are called "back- stab". They are used by low budget electricians, because they are very quick to be wired in. Don't expect a long life from them.
