Firstly I ll tell you what are the devices that I am having.
I am using Pioneer BDP 150 BR/ SACD player. It has
1X Digital Coaxial Out
1X Stereo Out
1X HDMI Out
NO Multi Channel Out
And also I am using a YAMAHA RXV361 AV receiver as my amplifier. It has
1X Coaxial In
1X Stereo In
1X Multi Channel In
NO HDMI In
Also, it supports DTS 5.1, Dolby PL, Dolby PL II, PCM 2ch Stereo, PCM HiFi 5ch stereo & PCM 5ch Setero Music Enhancer.
My question is how do I connect these devices together to listen real 5 channel music out from my SACD (Sting- Scared Love) which recorded in 5ch? And what is the signal that AV receiver is going to receive from the SACD player? Do AV receivers have that capability of extract 5.1 channels from PCM signal via Coaxial input? I know it can do it with Dolby & DTS codecs. But no any idea about PCM.
Currently I have select 5ch Stereo Music Enhancer in PCM mode. I can hear the music from all 5 channels. But I don't know whether it has real surround effect or its in 2ch stereo for both front & rear channels.
Think my problem is clear enough to you guys. Please advice. Thanks🙂
