I am on the path of building some trapezoidal PA cabinets. Dadoing square joints is easy. But I am unsure of the proper method for dadoing angled joints, like occur in a trapezoidal box.
Could someone please explain the process and the tools required.

Think in terms of how you would use your tablesaw to spline the joints, (butt or mitered) although a spline might be all you'd need, and far easier, it's just a variation of that jig holding your stock and using a dado blade in the saw.
Once you can visualize it, you'll see how it can be done with whatever cutting tools you have.

WHat is the shape that you are trying to constuct? A small drawing would help alot. Without seeing anything I would recomend a birdsmouth type of joint. Easy to say but hard to explain. If you draw up something specific I would be happy to help.

Perhaps the problem here is that I am misunderstanding what it means that most professional cabinets are built using dado construction.
I was under the impression this meant every single edge in the cabinet (all 12) we constructed using dado joints.
Perhaps only the top and bottom pannels (the trapezoidal shaped pieces) are only dadoed into the sideds??
Does someone have the answer to this one?
