i am using this illuminated toggle for my on/off switch on an amp but i cant figure out how to wire it.
it has 3 legs marked one, two, three. and and the data sheet has this:
i am taking the hot wire from the fuse and connecting it to pole #3.
and i am taking the hot wire from 1 and connect it to the transformer of my power supply but it doesnt seem to be working. there is something i am missing.

I think:
1/ Hot wire from fuse to 3
2/ Output to transformer 2
3/ Connect 1 to zero volt line to put on the neon. Unless the indicator is aLED in which case you correct resistor and diode to limit the current.

#3 is not a pole, it is a tag. It is a single-pole switch.
I strongly recommend that you make and use a lamp limiter when testing newly built mains powered circuits.

1/ is to the indicator so goes to neutral.
2/ is output from switch
3/ is live input.
When switch is off indicator is off.
When switch is on indicator is one too.
1 isn't a pole just neutral connection for indicator.

^^^^^^ what Nigel said.
For sake of completeness: the other end of Power Transformer primary winding also goes to neutral, so when toggle switch is ON, both Power Transformer and Neon indicator are ON at the same time..
