I've a CDPRO2 + XO3 Tent + BII that works very fine. I purchased a Metronome
to use the BII with I2S input, but I don't understood how setting the two dipswitch on Met pcb. I leave Mode 0,1 and 2 in central position and the other
ones setted like in the owner manual, but doesn't work. The psu is ok, and the
spdif switch is off, but the BII don't lock. Can you help me?
Thanks
Best, Orazio.

Almost debugged;I set MODE 0 +, MODE 1 - and MODE 2 - and now BII lock and finally I can hear the music. I' m very impressed by the sound quality, now at the level of the best
analog suorce! Therefore I'm disappointed, cause setting the MODEs switch in that way,I think, the Met works in master mode and the BII in slave. Everybody say that's better viceversa. I'm correct? If so, what's the correct set up?
Thanks in advance.

The mode switches control the output rate, your previous setting was invalid. The BII/BIII use their own clock to remove jitter. You can look at page 31 of the BIII integration guide for adding the Metronome, basicly it's the same as the BII.
Sorry, some question again.
Do BII works always in master mode, indipendently by the MODE setting?
I tried the 192KHz and the 96 KHZ output freqs, and the first was the best sounding.
ps. of course I've read yet tour integration guide, but I was a little confused.

Metro is an ASRC and so is BII. Both devices are "self masters" 🙂. You throw away the master clock of the cdpro and then you throw away the master clock of the Metronome.

How?
Because both asynchronously re-sample.
Yes I know.
The question is: how can trow away?
In the normal (stock) configuration master clock from the source not used. Only the data, word clock, and bit clock are used.
You can (if you know exactly what you are doing) actually make the B3 use an external master clock. But this is not the normal configuration.
