how do you choose the right wave guide?

i am building a pa 2-way monitor for out door use .i am using a PRV Audio D290Py-S as my compression driver.I would like to know how would i go about choiceing the right wave guide based on the wave guides Coverage.

i was thinking of using either the PRV Audio WG23-25 1" 100 x 40 Wave guide or the B-52 PHRN-1014 1" Horn 90° H x 40° W

PRV Audio D290Py-S - PRV Audio D290Py-S 1" Polyimide Horn Compression Driver 8 Ohm 1-3/8"-18 TPI

PRV Audio WG23-25 1" 100 x 40 Wave guide - PRV Audio WG23-25 1" 100 x 40 Waveguide 1-3/8"-18 TPI

B-52 PHRN-1014 1" Horn 90° H x 40° W - B-52 PHRN-1014 1" Horn 10" x 14" Bolt-On

I made PA speakers using the B-52 PHRN-1014 1" Horn. Despite what the description says, I believe it's a constant directivity horn with 90x60 coverage. I am using the B&C DE250 and crossing it over at about 1600hz. This horn sounds simply great, with a smooth airy wide dispersion. The poly diaphragm (as opposed to titanium) on the horn driver is sweet sounding and has no "shriek" to my ears.

The drawback with using a 1" constant directivity wide-dispersion horn however is that you will be limited in max SPL. Small diaphragm size, wide coverage and necessary EQ on the top octaves means you won't be rocking a stadium. But if you want "hi-fi" quality for say 100 or maybe 200 people it's very nice.

Do you have measurement equipment and experience designing crossovers for compression drivers?
----
There are good reviews for the PRV Audio D290Py CD, but I suspect you will only find proven crossovers for the SEOS-12 clone waveguides. Copy reviewed and proven, fully measured and tested designs from the smart kids.
=====

It is very difficult to get excellent music and directivity control from a passive crossover + CD + horn. The SPL curve is seldom flat, and the impedance curve often has several bumps. The PRV datasheet does not even include the impedance curve. The PRV SPL curve does not match the DE250 SPL curve used for most crossover circuits..

Example: For outdoor use does a 90x40 horn cover your audience better than a 60x40 horn? Sketch the space with different coverage patterns.
