Hello all,
I now have my new used sharp 1750 panel!
I am very happy with it. I have it running on top of a dukane 832! 750 hour bulb!
Very bright unit. Diplaying on a 6ft screen on the wall.
I love how it performs.
Now here is the problem I am having. I want to input my computer on this panel. It has the input for it.
I have tried this but I have to put the computer at 640X480 to get this to work or else if I use a setting like 800X600 it does not show all the pic on the panel.
Is there a vga converter box that will take 800x600 and downsize it to 640X800 on the market so that I will not lose all the detail on the screen.
I use some games that will only go down to 800X600 so I can't see the rest of the game.
Or is there a program out there that will let me do this?
I know this may be alot to ask but this is all some what new to me.
Thank you for all your help.
Shawntmac.

That is why you should not get a 640x480 screen. It is excellent for testing purposes, but to display high resolution images "with details intact" you MUST have the pixels to display the details. A CRT is slightly better at scaling, but good luck projecting an image on a wall using an overhead and a CRT screen! 😉
The QA1750 can display the 800x600 image. It just scales it to 640x480. You need to fiddle with the h sync and v sync in the menu. That should shift the image so that you can view the whole thing. I don't have the manual for mine here at work or I could help you more. The same thing happen to me the first time I hooked it up to a computer too. The image was shifted to the side so you could only see 1/3 of the computer screen.

Thank you for your help but h v not help. All it does is move the screen around. I mess around with the freq setting and it brought in the sides which lets me see left to right with no problem.
I just bought a video scaler off of ebay which will scale down the image to 640x480.
Which will work for me.
I will let you know how it goes.
Thanks and have a good night.
God bless,

Well I have the results for the video scaler.
The seller misrepresented the item for sale.
It does not do 640x480!
Uhg
Well it looks like I might as well just look for a lcp monitor that I can tear apart and use it on my overhead like many other people have on this site.
If any one knows of anyway to help me with my current setup that would be great.
I have been trying out power strip to no aval.
Maybe I just don't know how to use it well enough.
Any help would be great.
Once again would like to scale down to 640x480.
and please no insults. I am new at all this and I am learning.
Thank you and have a good day.

I have found a answer to my problem!
I have found a unit that will take an input up to 1024x768 and reduce it down to 640x480!
Yes this is just what I was after!
The unit is called PC to TV Converter Box from amberry (pc-tv II).
It will take your computer input and put out to composit or svhs.
I am using the svhs input on my panel and I am happy with the results.
Mind you I know it would look better if I could you the computer input on the panel but I can live with out it.
I know can run a host of stuff into the panel!
Also of note.
The unit PC to TV Converter Box from amberry (pc-tv II) needs a usb power source to run it.
Well all I hope I have given you some info that will be of help to you?
By the way I got it off of ebay.
Good night.

Any recent video card has s-video out.
I hope you did not paye more than your video card is worth.

The reason why I choose this rought was so that I could also use a philips flat panel tuner box also with it. And yes I have a svhs on computer vid card, but when I scaled it down to 648x480 any game that I would play on my pc would lose some of the screen as to the fact the min on the game is 800x600.
I no longer have that problem.
Thank you.
