How can you calculate the effects of cabin boost with a car sub?

An easy way would be to use a test subwoofer of known full space (anechoic) frequency response to measure the transfer function of your cabin at the intended listening position.

After taking measurements, subtract the test subwoofer's response from the measurements... Out comes your cabin's transfer function at that particular listening position.

Subtract 6dB if you used your test subwoofer's half-space anechoic frequency response. Of course, use an accurate microphone, and signal source of a flat frequency response.

hth 🙂
