Hi friends
Out of curiosity, I was looking for a source selector made of a row of push-buttons, you know, where the previously selected is released when you push another one …
Like, for example, in the NAD 3020.
I realized I don‘t even know what they‘re called!
They‘re a bit out of date, but so am I.
Thanks for hints!
David

Latching switches or switch banks. These used to be bought individually along with the bar/bracket and you could make your own combinations up of releasing when another is pressed and some that just work as on/off or even push to hold. Haven't seen them advertised for years.
Search eBay for "latching switch bank audio" to get you started.

Great, spot-on!
A first lookup returned a website „toneluck“. I‘ll look into ebay later.
thank you mooly!

Your welcome 🙂
I can remember the adverts for them from the likes of Maplin and so on but you just never see them now.

I see these being referred to as "gang switches", "interlocked switches", "dependent switches", "band switches".....
You could probably build a circuit around a CD4017 to sequentially turn on relays via a single momentary push button, if you don't want an microprocessor.
