Folks,
Another early, history making item, was the Sure HTS-5000, Home Theater Surround Sound Processor. Here are the details...
An early and excellent surround sound processor from the early days of surround sound. WITH wired remote control.
From a 1987 audio review; In Dolby Stereo at movie theaters, a speaker is hidden directly behind the center of the screen. Special logic circuits steer the dialogue to this center speaker. When Dolby Surround Sound brought theater sound home, the company didn`t immediately address the dialogue problem. The Home Theater Sound (HTS) division of Shure Brothers did ensure, however, that dialogue remained centered on the screen. The company developed its own proprietary logic circuits to steer sound to an optional center speaker. The HTS-5000 led the pack of surround sound decoders when it was introduced in 1985. It provided authentic Dolby decoding as well as a couple of synthesized modes, plus variable time delay for the rear channels. Shure followed Dolby`s theater specifications and included a sub-woofer output for deep bass and a front-center speaker for dialogue. Special logic circuits spread the surround around the room while keeping the dialogue centered on the screen."
Extremely clean - like new condition - WITH wired remote control.
As Is, NOT Audio Tested. Working when removed from service and placed in storage. When powered up the "mute" light on the remote control lights but there IS NO on-off switch or pilot light. It is meant to be powered from a receiver auxiliary AC outlet.
Offered at $350 - As Is, See Photos
