hey guys im a newbie here refered by a friend. ive been going through post after post and there seems to be a huge amount of knowledge here! maybe you guys can help me get some direction.
i am looking to build a basic high quality cd drive for automotive 12v use. all it needs to do is track up/ down, seek, and play/pause button. and of course eject. it also has to have a display for track/track time.
the most important factor is building a high quality peice with no frills. i will be using an outboard volume control so the unit does not need to have volume on tthe display. track and time are fine.
in minnesota, usa the temperatures range from +100 ferinheit in the summer to 60-70 below 0 in the winter. the car will be used mainly in the summer but it does get driven on "nice days" in the winter as well.
so if anyones got some ideas that would be a great start for me. ive reaad the posts on converting a cdROM and thats very similar to what i need just a bit too complex in getting it to work.
thanks a ton.
