I’m working on this amp right now. Was stuck in protection discovered a shorted or leaky transistor near the protection circuit it’s a A1038 to-92 package. Can I use a MPSA56 in place of this transistor?
I don't know how it's being used but the original is rated for much higher voltage. Do you have a KSA1220?

Yes you can use any generic PNP but watch the pin outs as the 2SA1038 is a B-C-E pin out where the MPS is C-B-E.
Since I designed this amplifier I know it well. Where is this PNP?
Does it have a 5.6v zener in it's emitter circuit?
