Working on a Hifonics BXX4000.1D. If I let it sit for a long time and power it up, It comes on and runs fine. If I turn it off and back on it goes into protect right away. I can bleed the rails all the way down. No change. Goes into protect. No input signal to the output driver board. No rail. Just in protect. Let it sit for a day and it will power up and run. I looked at mnhiphop101's post. This one is not doing the same thing.

I have to let it sit now. I will check those when it powers up. But when it powers up it runs fine. Turn it off and back on stays in protect. I assume the input signal to the driver board is the center pin. Most are.
I had this exact same issue. Connect a jumper wire from the battery negative to the negative speaker terminal and see if that allows u to turn it off and on
If u check the the drain on the low side u will notice the moment u let off the remote it jumps to somewhere around 30vdc. I havent been able to figure out why but connecting the main and audio ground worked for me. If u flip the board over the speaker negative is right next to the ground plane. I just used a small piece of solder braid to connect them.

I believe u do have the same issue. Dropping the rails down wont take it out of protect. U have to let the voltage on the drain of the low side go back to zero before it will power up again. On its own it can take 10min or longer
Thanks mnhiphop101, Just got back into this amp. Yes attaching a jumper from speaker negative to power ground allows the amp to power on and off as it should. Thanks.
With nothing connected to the amp, what's the resistance from the primary to the secondary ground?
Most of these clone amps have a 1k resistor (designated as R-gnd) parallel with a 0.1uF capacitor coupling the primary and secondary grounds. Is the resistor missing/defective/omitted on this amp?
