So I am reading that that the T4 can take input from a DDX amplifier, something that has PWM input. Is that the same thing as I2S? Can someone give me an example of something with PWM output?

NO! I2S is a serial data stream input, NOT a pwm input.

You need a PWM-Processor like TAS3308 or TAS5518 from Texas Instruments to feed the 2nd pwm input. But to this day, i haven't heard of someone who tried if this input would be working. See my thread on the hifimediy forum for this.
