hickok TV-7/U restoration advice needed.

Hi all,
I'm restoring a hickok TV-7/U, and I wonder if protecting the meter with two diodes head to tail (like Nolan Lee is suggesting) won't change the meter accuracy ???
Meter= 200µA full deflection and I use 2 x BYV96e.

ps: I've also replaced C102 & C103 as CR101 was replaced by 2 x BYV96e too

Any opinion is welcome, thanks.

Should be fine. But you could check by carefully measuring the voltage across the meter at full scale deflection to make sure it is below about 0.5V. Provided that it is, silicon diodes in parallel won't steal any current.
