Hi, Ed from BC, Canada. I own a set of Linkwitz LX521.4's. At present I am using only digital streaming as a music source. I thought it was about time I enabled my turntable in the system. For that, I need a Phono Preamp. I thought of just buying one but I am retired and I like to build stuff, especially if it is super high quality. I have some experience since I built my amps (10 amps are required for those speakers). The amps are incredible, designed by Tom Christiansen (Neurochrome Audio). So I came across Wayne's Pearl III phone preamp kit and I decided I am going to build it. Thanks!
Welcome to diyAudio Ed :^)
BC is a big place?
Jeff built a PEARL andnit sounds good. Love that he pulls 2 batteries from his drills to power it. What kind of TT doyouhave?
Tom’s amps are great. Chris has been very pleased with his 3886 amp. Tom brought a big prototype to the last diyFEST and we had a rivetingly enjoyable Dark Side of the Moon over our big MTMs.

Invermere, BC. The TT is a Rega P3 with a Grado F1+. I bought it in 1981. Ya, Tom is a great guy. He is helping me with an ASP that I am going to use for the LX521.4's - presently I am using a DSP.
I have a tweaked Rega II. Chris replkaced his Linn with a tweaked P3 from the same era. Imsold a ton of Grados — we would order 100s at a time.
