Just thought I'd introduce myself...
I'm Alex Pollard, living in Manchester, England. Been interested in electronics ever since I can remember!
Always pulling things apart, and blowing stuff up!.
Done alot of work with PIC micro's, keen interest in robotics, and video.
I spend most of my time working nights, however when I do get some free time, I like to play!..
Interesting thought I've been having...
Any connection between magnetism and gravity?..
Why should a simple coil of 250 turns of No 30 enamel copper wire, when 110V ac at 60Hz passes through it, levitate up off the table???
Something to think about???

Greetings Mr. Alex:
Welcome! I get the feeling that many of the diyAudio members learned a great deal about electronics by "pulling things apart and blowing stuff up!" -- I know I did.

Thanks SmarmyDog, nice to feel welcome!
I guess I'm not so individual after all, seems a common learning process, although a bit expensive!
Still, all good fun!
Any thoughts on my levitating coil puzzle?...
Better not try this, coz it's bloomin' dangerous! (coil gets VERY hot after a few seconds!)
