Hi everyone,

My name is Matthew and I joined yesterday. Long time reader so thought it was about time to join. Awesome forum.

Currently living in Tasmania, Australia, but moving to Adelaide soon.

I am am member of the Historical Radio Society of Australia (HRSA). In my rare spare time I like to repair AM receivers, design valve preamps, and the occasional power amp. Guitar amps are high on the list also.

Favourite valve is the 6J6 because it's cheap and cheerful in audio circuits. Also love Russian valves such as GU50, 6N15 (6J6 equiv) and 6P14P in place of EL84.

Haha thanks qusp, no doubt. As we speak I am waiting on an ebay shipment of GU50 russian pentodes (and the quite expensive sockets that go with them) for a future 'gig loudness' 100w guitar amp project. 😉
