Hi everyone, I'm here to learn FM stereo alignment

Hi everyone,

Long time lurker, new member. I've been repairing and rebuilding vintage stereo gear and test equipment for about five years now, but I won't be satisfied with my skillset until I can confidently and properly repair and align FM stereos. Over the years I've read a ton, I've got a good grasp of what's going on in the various stages of a stereo receiver and I've gone down the rabbit hole of buying decent (but not always working) test gear. Is this the right place to find people who can help me improve my skillset?

I can help you with that. What test gear do you have, and what tuner are you going to start on? I suggest a sacrificial one, as mistakes will be made.
I've tinkered with mostly working tuners and I've been able to make them work better, but I've got a Marantz 2275 on the bench that had a bad front end, L105 and C106 were both physically broken, so I replaced it with one from a 2325 (2275 and 2325 share the same front end). I installed the new front end, but of course everything is completely out of whack. The 2325 is physically wider than the 2275, and the tracking is off on both sides. I can't seem to narrow the tracking down to the 2275. I can tune in strong stations, but no stereo and the stations are distorted. Here's my gear:

Sound Technology ST1000A
Sound Technology 1701A (needs work)
HP 8657A Signal Generator
Sencore SG165
EICO 324
Marconi TF2015 (Needs work)
HP5385A Frequency Counter
Quantasylum QA401
Keithley 2015
Hitachi V509 Oscilloscope
Tek 2465A Oscilloscope
Siglent SDS 1000 Oscilloscope
Fluke 15B+

I have the gear to do the job, but not enough experience using it
