Hello everyone. Found this website while sitting here at work. I sell home audio on a retail sales floor in Portsmouth New Hampshire USA.
I have a full Energy Reference Connoisseur tower 5.1 set up. (RC-70's front, RC-30's rear, RC-LCR center)
I am currently running them with a RX-V2500 from yamaha.
Pretty basic.
I am took physics 1 and 2 in College for mechanical engineering and electronics have always entrigued me. I would like to learn how to build Audio amplifiers as a hobby just for fun.
I have ordered quite a few books (Hugh's, Slones to name a couple) and they will be here within the week.
I'm sure i will be asking many questions to come since i am an electronics beginner (basically just know ohms law 😀) so bear with me.

You naughty, naughty boy!
Well, you will find a lot of excellent advice and projects here, I hope that we will we see you in the threads soon. You might want to look at Mike B's Symasym project in Solid State. It's a nice simple project, with just enough of a twist to make it different and test your theory as you read your books, and it reportedly sounds pretty good as well. Or if you just want to practise soldering first, then have a look in the Chip Amps thread, very basic construction, but you can get excellent results.
