Looking for speaker placement suggestions. I normally do home audio/video installs but also do some commercial. Mostly offices and bars. But this client has a bar that has a side room where he would like a dj/dance sound system set up. Unfortunately I can't build the speakers because he requested warranties. So I will probably get some JBL SRX series or something similar. The room is 14ft (4.27m) wide by 60ft (18.29m) long with 12ft (3.66m) ceiling. The client isn't looking for night club levels but more like small dj gigs. Any suggestions welcome.
Looking for speaker placement suggestions.
So, not looking for speaker recommendations, just placement suggestions.
Perhaps a plan showing the locations of doors and windows and where the DJ would be situated would help?
Most mfrs will not have warranty coverage for overdriving their speakers. Also don't underestimate
the loudness level that can be in the room, especially with a roomful of loud patrons.
Make sure that is understood at the start.

Dj will be at one end (14ft side) which is open via a staircase to another smaller room. The opposite end is also open to an area that will have a lounge and axe throwing lanes. Hardwood floors, drywall on the walls and ceiling. Most of the time the dj will just be someone with a laptop. There are two large openings (about 10ft wide) on one of the long walls that lead to the other side where a bar and lounge will be. What is the easiest program to do a quick drawing/diagram that I can upload?
Distributed mono speakers, mounted high and angled down, along the left wall.
Probably could use a total of 3 or 4 speakers.
Leave the subs as an option to consider, after the initial installation is working and
the owner has heard it cranking on a Saturday night. He may not feel they're needed,
or may not like the thumping.

Haha, I agree. I don't know how the axe throwing/alcohol thing will be managed but not really my problem. The small opening on the left wall is an old doorway that used to lead to the adjoining building. It is sealed but there is an alcove about 3 ft wide by 2.5 ft deep by 6ft high of available space that I thought my be a good place to hide subs.
The owner will have the option to turn the sub off through the control system so that won't be too much of an issue. If a/c ducting makes using the side wall difficult or impossible would 3 or 4 mounted down the middle of the ceiling be an option or will that cause audible issues?
With that 12' high ceiling, just mount them on the wall below the ducts, angled downward, maybe horizontal.
The ceiling height would make mounting in the center of the ceiling facing downward much less desirable.

On the processing side of the system be sure to have a good limiter in place, DJ will push the system and then some, it just happens.
I would use a DSP, the DBX Zone Pro's are solid and simple to set up. Have a house mic direct in on a level control and for the DJ's provide a couple of XLR connections controlled with another dedicated level control. and keep a few interface adapter options handy. Something like the J4 on this page.

Who is the DJ? Some of the most known: Picotto, Westbam, Digweed, van Dik, van Buuren, Oddicon, Orbital... 🤔 .
You are not going to get interested people congregating / dancing at the opposite end of that room to the DJ unless the venue is rammed and there is nowhere else to go. I personally would suggest making sure the end where the DJ is a better level, and with a sub somewhere near the DJ. This means people can have a good party there. The mono idea suggested above is probably a good idea in that instance. Maybe have some speakers at the far end too, so there is some sound there just not as much as at the DJ end (and delayed a little to try to match it with the sub).
