Hello,
I have a strange problem with a BA5000. When you initially fire up the amp the right channel functions properly but the left channel does not product sound.
If you unplug the input conectors and switch the left and right channels back and forth causing a ground "pop" the amp functions perfecly. It may stay fixed for 1/2 hour or it may be fine all day.
It seems if you keep the levels up tis will be better longer.
Any idas.
Thaknks for your input

sounds like a loose wire or component to me. If a componant was damaged, it probably would have this problem all the time.

start with pulling it apart to the rca section and resolder the rca conectors on the back maybe around the circuit boards too. : O ) got a picture too ?
Methinks you may have oxidized relay contacts. With any luck, not burned yet. Check by turning the unit on and tapping the speaker relay. If this is it then ....
Take the top off the relay, release the spring carefully. Remove the moving contact (attached by wires, do not detach). Get a business card and soak with contact cleaner, not tuner cleaner. Rub the contacts, both moving and stationary. Follow up with cleaner such as Electrowash 2000 (non-residue) and reassemble. If the fault is still there, replace the relay.

Thank you for the input. I will try those things. Are the meters before or after the output relays? The meter on the bad channel does not read. This may tie down the problem. I will let you know how the suggestions work. Keep them coming.
Thanks
