Ok so i am building a 6th order sub that gets a flat 105db spl from 35hz to 95hz (the X1,) and now im looking for something that will complement it well. One of my requirements is small size, and the other is flat response over a wide frequency range with decent spls. I am looking to crossover at 80 hz and 300hz, and i want it to go flat up to 300hz. My current design gets flat 100db up to 300 and it spikes at 75 hz, trailing on down to 100 whre it starts to be flat. This spike is high but when crossed over most of it dissapears and in theory, if i were to find a speaker that was a flat 100db response from zero to infinity hz and i crossed over at 80hz to the speaker i designed, there would actually be a bell shaped bump spiking at 90hz, right where house and techno bassdrum kick lies (oh yea btw im using these for djing.) This design uses the beyma 15" m300. If any of you see this spl curve and know off the top of your head a better design then please tell me, i would love to know. I would still like to have that spike below 80 however so i can keep having my little bassdrum boost effect going for me, but if you know of something with better spls or something that plays flat higher than this, then please tel me about it.
